You are not some flower

With a seed that will bloom

As death darkens your door

And takes over your room

Your spirit’s not jettisoned

As corpse hits the floor

Your spirit has always been

And will be, forevermore

For you are eternal

A true being of light

Though this shell you wear

Puts up a convincing fight

Lull senses to sleep

Let only spirit rule

Seek and ye shall find

Remain not the fool

Reach behind the visible

For what you know to be there

Deny your mortality

Deny the world’s cares

Pray to be filled

As a vessel of God

Contain only the Truth

Reject this façade.
